The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) lists its GCE A Level and International Baccalaureate (IB) Scholarship as a scholarship worth 50% of tuition fees for eligible commencing international students in undergraduate programmes in Sydney. On the UTS page checked, the scholarship is marked *Coming soon* and the application period for Autumn session 2027 (February 2027 commencement) is listed as 2 November 2026 to 1 December 2026, 11.55pm AEDT.[1]
This is a tuition-fee scholarship, not funding for every study cost. Accommodation, living expenses, insurance, visas, flights and personal expenses need to be budgeted separately.
Who may consider this scholarship?
UTS lists this scholarship for international students who will commence full-time on-campus study in Sydney and meet the admission criteria for their selected UTS undergraduate degree. Applicants need to be completing or have completed a UK/Great Britain GCE A Level or an IB Diploma within one year before commencing at UTS, and be admitted to UTS on the basis of that qualification.[1]
The page also says Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents are not within the international-student definition for this scholarship.[1]
Which academic results does UTS list?
At the time of the scholarship decision, UTS lists one of these thresholds: an IB final score of at least 28 including bonus and penalty points; IB predicted grades of at least 33; or an aggregate of at least 12 in the best three Advanced Level (A2) GCE subjects.[1]
Meeting a minimum score does not guarantee the scholarship. UTS says its selection process is based on academic merit from the relevant final or predicted results.[1]
Is a separate application required?
Yes. UTS says every candidate must apply using the UTS online Scholarships application form to be eligible.[1] Do not assume that an admission application automatically acts as a scholarship application.
UTS also lists exclusions for students studying a UTS online or distance-mode degree, government-sponsored students, and recipients of another UTS scholarship for the duration of this scholarship.[1]
How long can the scholarship last?
UTS lists the duration as the standard duration of the course, with a maximum of eight sessions under any programme.[1] The actual duration and recipient conditions should still be checked in the offer and current Conditions of Award before accepting a scholarship.
