OSU Scholarship for Indonesia: Worth up to US$64,000
Up to US$64,000 in Scholarships
Oregon State University (OSU) lists a US$16,000-per-year Regional Award for prospective undergraduate international students residing in Indonesia, worth up to US$64,000 over four years. It is a tuition scholarship rather than cash for every study and living cost, and it remains subject to enrolment and renewal conditions.[1]
Who should look at this scholarship?
This scholarship is relevant to prospective Indonesian undergraduate students entering through International Direct, International Direct Transfer, International Year One or the Undergraduate Transfer Program.[2] OSU states that eligible applicants receive the Regional Award automatically, with no separate scholarship application for this award.[2]
The awarding region is based on country of residence. OSU also states that US citizens, permanent residents and students paying in-state tuition are not eligible. Students sponsored by a government or external entity may also be ineligible.[2]
What does US$16,000 per year mean?
OSU’s 2026–27 Indonesia flyer shows a US$16,000 Regional Award in each of four years, for a US$64,000 total.[1] The flyer illustrates estimated annual tuition and fees of US$41,110, leaving estimated tuition of US$25,110 after the Regional Award. Those figures do not cover every study and living cost, and can change by programme and academic year.[1]
So, do not interpret “US$64,000” as full funding from OSU. Budget separately for living expenses, books, insurance, travel and personal costs. Check the official offer letter and cost of attendance before accepting an offer.
Can the award be renewed?
OSU states that the award can be renewable for up to four undergraduate years when a student maintains continuous full-time enrolment in an approved programme and remains in good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA.[2] It is not an unconditional promise for every individual case; the award letter remains the controlling reference.
What about other OSU scholarships?
Provost Scholarships for Excellence are listed at US$6,000 per year and are based on academic qualifications, but cannot be combined with Regional Awards or Regional Scholarships.[2] OSU also lists one-time undergraduate Regional Scholarships of up to US$8,000; availability is limited and a personal statement or interview may be required.[2]
Application checklist
- Confirm that your starting route is an eligible undergraduate programme.
- Prepare academic and English-language documents for your chosen entry route.[1]
- Confirm residence status, award amount, tuition and renewal terms in the offer letter.
- Do not assume the scholarship covers living costs or guarantees admission or a visa.
