Studying in Singapore is a strategic choice for international students, especially from Indonesia. Known as the home of the Merlion, Singapore offers world-class education standards with a location close to home. With its combination of globally recognized curriculum, high safety standards, and multicultural environment, Singapore is not just a place to study — it is a gateway to a global career.

Education System in Singapore

Singapore maintains a world-class education system under strict government supervision. For private institutions, quality is monitored by:

  • Committee for Private Education (CPE)
  • EduTrust Certification (quality assurance for private institutions)

EduTrust is awarded to private institutions that meet high standards in academic management, fee transparency, student protection, and teaching quality.

Advantages of Singapore’s Education System:

  • Industry-relevant curriculum
  • Pathway programs to overseas universities (UK, Australia, etc.)
  • International and multicultural environment
  • Strong focus on practical skills and employability

Study duration in Singapore is generally shorter compared to many other countries.

  • Bachelor’s Degree: 3–4 years (some private institutions offer fast-track programs that can be completed in 2 years)
  • Master’s Degree: 1–2 years
  • Doctoral Degree (PhD): 3–5 years

The duration depends on the chosen program and institution.

Most Popular Cities for International Students

Unlike large countries, Singapore is a city-state, so everything is close and convenient. They offer diverse and vibrant areas for international students:

  • Bugis & Bras Basah – Education and arts hub
  • Jurong East – Technology and innovation zone
  • Queenstown – Close to many private campuses and research centers
  • Orchard & Somerset – Modern lifestyle and shopping area

With integrated public transport, clean surroundings, high security, and complete

facilities, Singapore is a comfortable and student-friendly destination.
