VU Block Model International Scholarship: Worth up to 30% of Tuition Fees for Melbourne Study

Planning to study in Melbourne in 2026 or 2027? Victoria University (VU) offers the VU Block Model® International Scholarship to new international students starting an eligible course at VU Melbourne. This scholarship is worth 10%, 20%, or up to 30% of tuition fees in the first year, based on an assessment of prior academic achievement.[1]

Thirty per cent awards are limited in number, so it is important to check requirements and accept a full offer under VU’s conditions as early as possible. The scholarship is not guaranteed until your acceptance has been confirmed.[1]

Who may be considered?

According to VU’s official page, this scholarship is for new international students commencing a foundation, higher education diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate coursework, or Study Abroad course at VU Melbourne in 2026 and 2027.[1]

Applicants must meet the course entry requirements. English courses, VET, research courses, and sponsored students are not eligible for this scholarship.[1] VU also says students are automatically assessed after submitting an application for an eligible course, so the page does not describe a separate scholarship application.[1]

For Indonesian applicants, do not assume that every VU course receives the same scholarship value. The starting amount is assessed on merit, and different rules may apply to particular student groups or programmes.[1]

First-year scholarship value

VU says applicants who meet entry requirements for an eligible course will receive a minimum scholarship worth 10% of first-year tuition fees. Assessment may result in a 10%, 20%, or 30% scholarship, with 30% awards limited in number.[1]

The first-year scholarship covers the first two semesters. It applies to tuition fees only and cannot be converted to cash or transferred to another person or course.[1] Living costs, visa expenses, Overseas Student Health Cover, travel, materials, and other costs are not stated as part of this scholarship, so they should be budgeted separately.

Can the scholarship continue?

After each study year, eligible students are reassessed for scholarship continuation based on their Weighted Average Mark (WAM) and completion of 96 credit points per year.[1]

VU lists these benchmarks:

  • 50% WAM: scholarship worth 10% of tuition fees;
  • 70% WAM: scholarship worth 20% of tuition fees;
  • 80% WAM: scholarship worth 30% of tuition fees.[1]

In other words, continuation is not automatic. The value may be retained or change according to academic results and the rules in force at annual reassessment. Students also need to meet payment obligations and student-visa conditions to remain eligible.[1]

A checklist before applying

Before choosing a course, check four things: the course fit with your academic and career goals, entry and English-language requirements, total costs outside the scholarship, and scholarship rules for your programme. VU lists several eligibility exceptions, including special conditions for some degrees and pathways.[1]

RIM Education can help you compare Australian programmes, understand the application pathway, and review your documents for Melbourne study. Contact RIM Education to discuss your plan.

Important: Scholarship values, course eligibility, intakes, entry requirements, WAM rules, and terms and conditions can change without notice. Always confirm current details on VU’s official page and in your letter of offer before accepting an offer or making financial commitments.[1]
