Curtin Singapore Scholarships: How to Check 25%, 30%, and 50% Tuition-Fee Opportunities
When you are exploring study options in Singapore, a scholarship can look straightforward because the percentage is clear. But 25%, 30%, or 50% only becomes meaningful after you check the programme, intake, student status, and award conditions. Curtin Singapore’s scholarship page lists several funding options for selected programmes, including a 25% Academic Scholarship for international students, a 30% Merit Scholarship for international students, and a 50% Tech Scholarship.[1]
This article is a guide to reading those opportunities—not a guaranteed-award list or confirmation that every scholarship remains available for a particular intake. Scholarship information can change, and some offers on the page are tied to specific cohorts or intakes. Always confirm directly with Curtin Singapore before applying.[1]
1. 25% Academic Scholarship for international students
Curtin Singapore lists the 25% Academic Scholarship (International) for eligible international students in Diploma pathway, Bachelor, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Master, and Study Abroad programmes.[1] The scholarship is applied to each trimester or semester tuition-fee instalment and does not apply to repeated units.[1]
This means it should not be read as a reduction on every study and living cost. Check your offer letter for the tuition fee, instalment schedule, non-tuition charges, and the programme that is actually eligible.
2. 30% Merit Scholarship for international students
The same page lists the 30% Merit Scholarship (International) for selected Diploma pathway, Bachelor, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, and Master programmes.[1] However, the page also says this 30% scholarship is available to new students commencing in 2026 course intakes.[1]
Because that year is stated on the official page, do not assume this scholarship is available for a 2027 or other future intake. Ask in writing whether the award, eligible programme, and commencement period still apply when you are ready to submit an application.
3. 50% Tech Scholarship
Curtin Singapore also lists a 50% Tech Scholarship. Its official page associates the award with selected technology programmes and may limit commencement to early intakes of a new programme.[1] Because programme, award availability, and intake are central to eligibility, treat this as an opportunity to confirm—not an automatic benefit simply because you choose a technology field.
Conditions to read closely
Although the scholarship names differ, several conditions appear repeatedly on Curtin Singapore’s page:
- entry requirements vary by qualification and must be met;
- scholarship numbers are limited, so being eligible does not always mean receiving an award;
- students receiving another Curtin scholarship or bursary are generally not eligible for these scholarships;
- awards cannot be deferred beyond the selected intake;
- recipients need to remain in their initial course, except for an allowed major change;
- leave of absence, withdrawal, or termination can affect continuation; and
- scholarships cannot be transferred to another course or Curtin campus.[1]
Some scholarships also state that recipients are required to represent Curtin Singapore as student ambassadors.[1] Do not skip this section: recipient responsibilities matter as much as the award value.
A checklist before applying
Before you make a decision, prepare five questions:
- Is my programme and intake explicitly listed as eligible?
- Do I meet the academic and English entry requirements?
- Which tuition fees does the percentage apply to, and when is the credit applied?
- Am I receiving another Curtin award or transferring credit that could affect eligibility?
- What are the requirements for retaining the scholarship after study begins?
